La Union: A Budget Travel Guide
Few months ago we were planning to go to Tagaytay to celebrate our anniversary but since we have to consider our location for conviniency, we think of another place to visit until my boyfriend suggested, "Why not, La Union?"
Sharing you our DIY 2D1N La Union itinerary: A Budget Travel Guide
π©If you're on a budget at kung may private car naman, mas makakatipid and less hassle. If via commute, from Pasay, take Partas/Dominion/Viron bus going to La Union. I think less than 500 ang ticket.
π©Travel time is approximately 4-5 hours depending to the flow of traffic
π©Yet best time to leave Manila is 12mn. Pero umalis kami from Bulacan madaling araw dahil ayaw kaming payagan ng parentals dahil galing kaming work at need magpahinga.

π0430 ETD from Bulacan
π0830 ETA to San Juan (via NLEX, SCTEX, & TPLEX)
π0900 Check in at Monaliza Beach Resort. (I was trying to book at Flotsam & Jetsam several times but they're really fully booked so I searched for other beach resort and found out that the owner of Monaliza itself is very kind, according to the reviews I've read. Iyon lang we didn't get the chance to meet her. Either way, our stay was nice and comfy. 1 night per room costs 1500 with AC. The room fits for just 2 person at bawal sa maarte so pwedeng pwede na sa amin.
π1000 Since we only had few hours of sleep, umidlip muna kami to regain energy.
π1200 We had our lunch at Olas Banditos, a Mexican style resto. Perks of being checked in at Monaliza beach resort is being near at restaurants and a couple of must visit places in La Union. The food were okay but a bit pricey. The place is cool and kind of instagramable. 6/10
π1300 Tangadan falls. On our way to Tangadan, we met Sir Juan na nakuha naming Tour Guide. And before you reach the falls, may trek muna for about 15-30 mins depende kung gaano ka kabilis maglakad. Pag dating doon, may environmental fee na 30 pesos each at yung life vest na 50 pesos.
If you're planning to visit La Union in the future you may contact Sir Juan Andaya. He's one of the local tour guide do'n, he's very good at touring at talagang inalagaan at kinuwentuhan kami along the way.
π1730 Beach. Sobrang nakaka kalma❤❤❤ The beach is such a beauty and La Union is a REAL gem!
π1900 Dinner at El Navi Hostel and Restaurant. I was looking for Seawadeeka but unfortunately, temporarily closed daw sila so we had our dinner at El Navi na located lang pag labas namin ng high way mula Monaliza beach resort. The meal ranges from 99 to 300 pesos. They offer breakfast meals, sizzling meals, silog meals and beverages like coffees, frappes, milktea. The place is nice as well as the ambiance. Very instagramable din. 9/10
π2100 Night Life at beach. We bought Dinakdakan for Pulutan that costs 195 pesos, tbh di worth the price kasi makunat yung baboy parang nung umaga pa niluto. And a bucket of beer. So ayon, chill chill lang while listening to the sound of waves nang walang lasinganπ
π2300 Rest

π0930 Breakfast El Navi Hostel & Restaurant again para less hassle & we really wanted to try their breakfast. Actually maraming pwedeng kainan sa daan like mga silog silog & cafes. Ikaw na lang ang mamimili.
π1015 ETD from San Juan to Luna/ Baluarte Watch tower
π1030 Namacpacan Church
π1145 ETA to Luna Watch Tower
π1200 Ma Cho Temple (It's a Taoist Temple so the dress code is in strict compliance. No off shoulder, skirts, shorts, etc. As a tourist & a visitor, respect na lang natin ang rules nila.)
π1230 Pindangan Ruins
π1300 Poro Point Light House (Thunderbird is just along the way but we decided to leave it for our next visit)
π1330 Lunch at Kamanggan. Nakita lang namin 'to along the way while we were looking for a place to eat. They offer local Filipino dishes that ranges 195-500. Sobrang sarap ng sizzling sisig nila na!!!!! 10/10) Here's our selfie, lol.
π1430 Grape Picking (grapes are 300/klo.
π1500 Going Home. We need to go home early para di gano'n ka pagod dahil may work pa the next day.
Actually this trip is very much experimental. Ako ang gumawa ng itinerary namin with the help of Google Maps and Maps.me (*round of applause* because Waze is very unreliable that moment haha) while my boyfriend's the driver. These apps are so helpful especially sa mga diy travels.
I just follow all the itinerary na nabasa ko sa mga blogs at kung saan kami mas makakatipid. We were not able to buy souvenirs dahil akala ko may mabibilhan kami sa last stop namin na Grape picking, pero wala na pala. Sad!! Just one conclusion: We'll definitely be back!π―
